While the PSAT is given to 10th grade students for free, we strongly encourage and expect all 9th and 11th grade magnet students to register to take the exam as well. The test gives students valuable feedback on strengths and weaknesses that can help guide preparation for the SAT prior to college applications. 11th grade students can additionally qualify for the National Merit Scholarship based on their results. Within the past few years, a North Cobb magnet student has been awarded this scholarship while several others have been named finalists and semi-finalists.
