This past Saturday (21-September), more than 20 Magnet Warrior seniors headed to Clarkston to partner with Hands on Atlanta and the Clarkston Community Center to assist refugees and recent immigrants obtain much needed food aid. Interacting with global citizens in need after long journeys from Syria, Eritrea, Myanmar, and Afghanistan (among other places) was a deeply enlightening and rewarding experience for all of our volunteers. Plans are being made to help again in the future and bring food, diapers/wipes, and more to be of even more assistance. We hope that many more of our students can help more refugees and immigrants.
We were excited to further our international experience by eating at Canton House on Buford Highway after our service. Authentic Chinese dim sum was amazing and enjoyed thoroughly by all!
