The PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a great introduction to the SAT for high school students. Taking the PSAT allows extra practice before taking the SAT.
When students take the PSAT they will be able to:
- Better prepare for the SAT. They will become familiar with the format, kinds of questions and the exact directions they will see on the SAT.
- Receive feedback on their strengths and weaknesses on skills necessary for college study. Students can then focus their preparation on those areas that could most benefit from additional study or practice.
- See how their performance on an admissions test might compare with that of others applying to college.
- Be entered in the competition for National Merit Scholarships or National Achievement Scholarships (11th graders only)
- Receive information from colleges and universities about programs of interest.
Registration is online at www.TotalRegistration.net/PSAT/110005 Deadline to register is Sept. 29, 2017.
